Werewolf: The Apocalypse PDX najava bavi se ekološkom politikom

Bigben Interactive and Cyanide Studios’ upcoming Vukodlak: Apokalipsa - Zemljina krv received a new trailer at PDXCon, and… oh boy. The teaser trailer is all cinematics but is themed around some eco-conscious werewolves who decide to pick up their Liberal mantle and fight against mechs and other corporate entities looking to terraform the forest.

Vukodlak: Apokalipsa temelji se na Svijet tame and follows Cahal, a lycan who discovers that his clan is in danger due to Endron, who has installed an extraction site and is completely destroying and upending the Caern’s home.

This forces Cahal into action, as he and his clan begin to fight back against the corporate interlopers in order to protect their forest.

It’s basically a heavy metal emo version of Ferngully.

We still don’t get to see any gameplay, just some images of werewolves, wolves and Cahal, as well as some mechs.

The press release goes a bit more into detail about the world and characters, revealing that Cahal was actually cast out of his group but eventually returned. The press release also reveals that rage will be a driving factor for Cahal’s transformations, allowing him to become a full-on lycan when consumed by rage.

However, the press release also reveals that the game will dabble into modern day politics, explaining…

“ The video game carries over all the main aspects of the pen-and-paper game in an unflinchingly mature universe overflowing with current topics such as the destruction of nature by man and their machines. Rage, a central element of the game, brings a subtlety to the game which requires players to learn to control it in order to make the most of it.”

For most people wanting to get away from a lot of the Liberal talking points that seem to have canvassed nearly every aspect of our waking lives, you won’t find an escape in Vukodlak: Apokalipsa.

The action-RPG is scheduled to release on PS4, Xbox One and on PC in 2020.
