Grinding Gear Games announced over on the forums that Put ekscesa is being delayed for the PS4 into February of 2019 next year. Originally the game was announced at the start of November and was supposed to launch in December, but according to a post made on the forums on Studenog 29th, 2018, the game is being delayed.

In the forum Grinding Gear’s Chris states…

“When we announced Path of Exile for PlayStation 4 earlier this month, we indicated we were aiming for a December release. Unfortunately, we have had to revise this to early February. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience this causes, because we know there are many players looking forward to this release.

 

“We underestimated the amount of work it would take to finish the certification process during the busy Christmas period. While we hope to have everything ready in January, we feel a lot more comfortable promising early February as a target release window. This will also give us time to work on game performance/frame rate, which we feel could be improved before release.”

Interestingly enough the community was completely okay with this move (mostly because they’re PC gamers), and didn’t further pester Grinding Gear about it.

Obviously, the first thing that comes to my mind is the possibility of the game being delayed to suit possible censorship standards put into place by Sony? As some of you may know the company has instituted a new censorship policy for PS4 games. This has created quite the stir within the gaming community, especially for console owners.

There’s no guarantee that Put progonstva delay was in response to any kind of censorship requirements (though it’s obviously not something that can be ruled out), Chris does mention that the certification is what got them hung up.

Now does this certification possibly include the censorship faction at Sony? Maybe, maybe not. Developers aren’t specifically allowed to talk about the details of the certification process regardless of the censorship protocols (although to be fair this applies to all major platforms, including Microsoft and Nintendo, due to security reasons). But is it possible that the censorship grim reaper snagged Put ekscesa before its exit from certification? Well, time will tell once the game releases and gamers start doing comparison videos.

Anyway, you can now look for Put ekscesa to launch next year in February for the PS4.
