Nickelodeon may be rebooting the Turtles franchise in the form of the abominable cartoon, Uspon od Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but real fans of the Nindža kornjače are likely going to want to look toward NetherRealm Studios’ nepravda 2 if they want to experience the true pizza-eating, ninja-beating, sewage-living, martial-arts half-shell heroes that they grew up with during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
NetherRealm dropped the latest DLC trailer for nepravda 2, featuring the four playable turtles and their martial arts mastery being put on display. I can only say that Nickelodeon’s massive misstep to indispose fans toward the Nindža kornjače is likely a blessing in disguise for NetherRealm, because the trailer below brings back all sorts of nostalgia and a true depiction of what fans expected from the painter-named pugilists.
Michelangelo’s nunchucks and Donatello’s bo skills look really on point. NetherRealm did a bang up job capturing the speed, efficiency and grace of their respective weapon arts. Not only that but they look mega-fun to play. Hopefully they’ll be balanced and tuned enough for SRK to allow them into this year’s EVO tournament, because I love to see someone playing as the TMNT in the top eight of nepravda 2EVO 2018 during .
Raphael and Leonardo look okay. Due to their weapons and techniques they have to get in a little closer than their fellow brothers and they don’t seem to allow for the manual combos like the other two.
I was curious how NetherRealm was going to handle their super special, given that giving each one their own special would be rather taxing on the art department, but it looks like they all share a single special.
That’s definitely the best way to go about it.
As far as selections go… you can choose from the four turtles under a single character from the roster selection screen. Each turtle has its own skin that’s shared under one character, but they also each have their own moves and abilities. You can also perform tag-maneuvers with each turtles as well.
I’m just glad that NetherRealm based the art design on Steve Barron’s 1990 live-action movie instead of those awful designs used in Michael Bay’s CGI flicks.
You can look for the real Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to arrive as part of the Fighter Pack 3 DLC for PC, PS4 and Xbox One starting this February.
