Sony Interactive Entertainment or SIE’s new president John (Tsuyoshi) Kodera has been active on his new Twitter account and tweeted numerous replies to fellow fans of the company. We learn, however, that Sony’s new president has a totally different vision of “games as a service”.

Back in October of 2017, Sony had disclosed in a quarterly financial conference call that the company will be looking into ways to “appropriately” explore microtransactions in the future. The act may or may not go through, but it was heavily discussed by Sony late last year.

As of now there seems to be a different view on games as a service or how things will be handled in the future regarding the PlayStation’s upcoming video games according to Kodera.

The president of SIE’s activity on Twitter had one response that stood out which comes in from a twitter user by the name of Mystifizor. This certain user stated:

The new president claims that he will try to continue the work of Andrew House, the former president of SIE. However he also makes mention of games as a service in response to Mystifizor’s concern about the situation.

According to Kodera, fans of the PlayStation family of consoles and video games do not need to worry about it, since “PlayStation’s vision is totally different.”

It’ll be interesting to see what comes out of this situation when Sony finally decides to unveil the curtains pertaining to this “totally different” vision of games as a service.
