PlayStation igrači nisu zadovoljni PS Plus besplatnim igrama za siječanj

Sony announced six free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers for January, 2017. The list was rolled out over on the official PlayStation Blog, where it was readily met with anguish, frustration and lots of disappointment.

The six free games in January, 2017 include the following:
Day of The Tentacle Remastered, PS4 (Cross buy on PS Vita)
Ovaj rat Mine: malenima, PS4
Blazerush, PS3
prijevara, PS3 (Cross Buy on PS4 and PS Vita)
Azkend 2PS Vita
Titan duše, PS Vita (Cross Buy on PS4)

The PlayStation Blog rating was originally only at 1.5 stars but it’s petered out at 3 out of 5 stars, showing that while originally the hardcore PlayStation gamers weren’t fond of the listings, they eventually worked themselves over into fanboy mode again and had the Sony Defense Force get them straightened out.

The YouTube community was far less forgiving, and the Sony Defense Force had no power over them. You can check out the video below.

And here’s how the community responded.

Vicious.

You’re probably curious what some of the comments look like on the page, right? Well, I would be remiss in only showing the downvotes and not giving you a small sampling of the displeasure laid at the feet of Sony on their YouTube video. So check a few of the gems out below.

Some people were okay with the games, especially Ovaj rat mine. Out of them all it’s probably the most feature-rich and replayable.

Tim Schafer’s games haven’t been quite as appreciated in the gaming community since he made the sock puppet joke. For those of you who don’t remember, you can check it out below, courtesy of Video Game Journalism.

Anyway, none of this really solves Sony’s problem of churning out indie trash most months for paying PlayStation Plus subscribers. It’s not that all the games are trash, it’s just that Sony’s selection of free games for people paying monthly to access their online network are being given content in as lazy a manner as SNL has been churning out stale and unfunny jokes in the last few years.

I’m not ashamed to say that Xbox Live Gold seems to have been worth it for the past two years. Microsoft – under the proper leadership of Phil Spencer – turned everything around and seems to be catering to gamers while Sony fumbles with their toes like some kind of sloth-footed giant. If they’re going to keep charging people to play online, they’re definitely going to need better incentives than free games from a guy who mocked minorities, women and LGBTQ gamers at GDC with piss-poor math.

Regardless of all the drama, you can look for the six games to go live this January for the PS3, PS4 and PlayStation Vita.
