Infowars je zabranjen na Disqusu

Disqus is the most recent tech company to ban Alex Jones’ Infowars from their platform, limiting the discussion that can be had on the website. This comes shortly after Facebook, Apple, and YouTube all collectively banned Infowars from their platforms as well.

On August 7th, 2018 Alex Jones shared a tweet containing a message from Disqus, where they declared Infowars in violation of their terms of service, and thus, were terminating the Infowars account.

Ako ne možete pročitati poruku, u njoj stoji...

“We are reaching out to inform you that your organization, Infowars, is in violation of the terms of use of the Disqus service. Because of this, Disqus is unable to offer continued discussion services for your orgqanization. As of today, Disqus is terminating the services for the shortnames “nfocom”, “europe-infowars”, “Newswars”, “infowarspualrevere”, “prisonpcom”, and “planetinfowars”. Additionally, Disqus is blocking the domains “infowars.com”, “newswars.com”, and “prisonplanet.com”.

“Activity or content that can result in the termination of services include violations of our Basic Rules for Disqus powered sites.”

This comes hot off the heels of the other major platforms banning Infowars from their sites, including YouTube removing all the major Infowars channels, Facebook removing all the major infowars channels, and Apple and Spotify blocking the apps to access the podcasts.

Surprisingly, Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, will not be blocking Alex Jones or Infowars, despite repeated pleas from Leftists to censor him. On Kolovoz 7th, 2018 Jack Dorsey made a Twitter thread, writing…

“We didn’t suspend Alex Jones or Infowars yesterday. We know that’s hard for many but the reason is simple: he hasn’t violated our rules. We’ll enforce if he does. And we’ll continue to promote a healthy conversational environment by ensuring tweets aren’t artificially amplified.

“Truth is we’ve been terrible at explaining our decisions in the past. We’re fixing that. We’re going to hold Jones to the same standard we hold to every account, not taking one-off actions to make us feel good in the short term, and adding fuel to new conspiracy theories.

“If we succumb and simply react to outside pressure, rather than straightforward principles we enforce (and evolve) impartially regardless of political viewpoints, we become a service that’s constructed by our personal views that can swing in any direction. That’s not us.

“Accounts like Jones’ can often sensationalize issues and spread unsubstantiated rumors, so it’s critical journalists document, validate, and refute such information directly so people can form their own opinions. This is what serves the public conversation best.”

Right now Dorsey is defending free speech, but Twitter is its own censorship prison, with many Conservatives being unfairly targeted and shadowbanned, as reported by USA Today.

Outlets like CNN, The Guardian and other mainstream news sites are also pressuring Twitter to censor Alex Jones and the Infowars accounts in order to wipe them out of the public view permanently.

Alex Jones’ main website is still available, but reaching new viewers will be difficult now that the Infowars channel has been banned from almost all the major social media networks. Many on the Left are cheering on this censorship as an act of private companies exercising their willingness to ban users they don’t like, but they fail to see how this far-reaching measure could just as well be used to censor far Left media outlets as well.
