Capcom will release both Resident Evil 3 Remake i Resident Evil: Otpor for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 3rd, 2020. However, a new report has found what the latter aims to offer loot box goers at launch.
In the past, gamers had an idea that Resident Evil: Otpor will have a form of loot boxes or microtransactions (MTX). This was later confirmed when the ESRB revealed da bilo Resident Evil 3 Remake or Resident Evil: Otpor will have “In-Game Purchases.”
As of today, a gamerevolution.com writer reports that he has found images of the multiplayer version of the upcoming Resident Evil game that contain loot boxes, different skins, sprays, and voice-lines:
The site’s writer makes mention that the first screenshot shows a loot box inventory screen that has a box labeled in Chinese “低级道具匣,” which is said to translate to “Low-Level Loot Box.”
Moreover, the screenshot showing the Resident Evil: Resistance loot box and its categories (via the site) reads:
- 使用成绩点数 (RP) 购买一个装饰匣 – Buy a decorative box with grade points.
- 获得相应的成绩点数保护伞货币用以购买奖励箱子 – Earn Umbrella currency to purchase reward boxes
Right now, the writer notes that a player will be able to dish out 50,000 of in-game currency to buy a loot box, offering the payer an item in one of the following sections:
- 幸存者造型 (0/24) — Survivor Skins
- 怪物造型 (0/15) — Monster Skins
- 武器造型 (0/48) — Weapon Skins
- 喷雾 (0/52) — Sprays
- 幸存者动作 (0/16) — Survivor Gestures
- 丧尸动作 (0/7) — Zombie Gestures
- 操纵者语音 (0/28) — Mastermind Voiceovers
At this point, none of the above should come in as a surprise, given the current trend in the games industry. Also, seeing that Capcom is the one to defend on disc-DLC, the above is just business as usual.
The question that remains unanswered right now is, how much real money will these loot boxes cost?
In the meantime, Capcom will ship out its latest work for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 3rd, 2020.
