Sony Pictures i Tencent udružuju se kako bi igru Crossfire pretvorili u film

It looks like Tencent isn’t only focused on pushing payment plans and eating up stakes in various video game companies seeing that the Chinese giant is looking to team up with Sony Pictures to make Unakrsna vatra the movie, which is based on the 2007 South Korean video game by SmileGate.

The game in question released back on PC in 2007 as CrossFire. As of now, Remedy Entertainment will help SmileGate on the forthcoming Xbox One “exclusive” billed as CrossFireX, which is a console update of the original game.

The FPS title without shame takes cues from the popular Counter-Strike series in that fast-paced guns-a-blazing action is a thing, coupled with quick-scope tactics.

Prema gamesindustry.biz, Tencent Pictures will co-finance and co-produced the movie, which will be produced through the Original Film label of Neal H. Moritz.

That’s correct, the same producer over the Fast and the Furious series and the recent Sonic the Hedgehog movie will be backing this adaptation.

This means that Crossfire will join the following movies by Tencent Pictures, which currently stands at ten motion pictures with the latter three gearing up to release:

  • (2015) Roco Kingdom 4
  • (2016) Warcraft
  • (2016) Blood of Youth
  • (2017) Kong: Skull Island
  • (2017) Wonder Woman
  • (2018) Venom
  • (2018) Bumbar
  • (2019) Men in Black: International
  • (2019) Terminator: Dark Fate
  • (2019) A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
  • (2020) Top Gun: Maverick – June 26th, 2020
  • (2020) Monster Hunter – September 4th, 2020
  • (2020) Wish Dragon – TBA

With all of that said, you can check out both trailers for CrossFireX that the Xbox Team released, offering up an idea as to what to expect when it comes to the movie’s premise:

As of now, there’s no telling when Crossfire the movie will hit the silver screen (assuming it won’t go straight to DVD), but what is for certain is that the over-the-top CS: GO like-game is currently in the works with Sony Pictures and Tencent Pictures backing it.
