Britanski AgeID čekovi odgođeni do srpnja 15th; Neće utjecati na Twitter, Reddit, Imgur, Non-Porn stranice

Porn Pass

A spokesman for the Department of Digital Culture, Media and Sport told the BBC that they expect social media sites to begin to upgrade and maintain a safe environment to protect kids from harmful content, saying…

“We know that pornography is available on some social media platforms and we expect those platforms to do a lot more to create a safer environment for children. If we do not see action then we do not rule out legislating in the future to force companies to take responsibility for protecting vulnerable users from the potentially harmful content that they host.”

Additionally, any websites that do contain pornography but does not make commercial revenue or run ads on the site, will not be affected. So historical-based websites or repositories, art or media websites, and performance art sites without ads won’t be affected.

According to the U.K’s Minister for Digital, Margot James, she told the BBC…

“The introduction of mandatory age-verification is a world-first, and we’ve taken the time to balance privacy concerns with the need to protect children from inappropriate content.

“We want the UK to be the safest place in the world to be online, and these new laws will help us achieve this.”

This all seems kind of fruitless if you think about kids gaining access to their parent’s AgeID passport, or, as the BBC noted, make use of VPNs, which could circumvent the AgeID requirements.

Porn sites aren’t required to use a universal AgeID system, but they most have some sort of compliant age verification measure in place by July 15th. The AgeID porn passes will also be rolled out soon to retailers and store shops courtesy of MindGeek.

This whole AgeID system has been delayed multiple times due to the fact that no one in U.K., parliament seemed to have any clue how to build the infrastructure to make the system work. It was introduced way back in 2016 with the Digital Economy Act, but it’s hit multiple snags it finally making it out to the general public.
