SMACH Z E3 Trailer prikriva detalje, Devs obećavaju beta verziju na GamesCom

Smach Z

The minute long trailer doesn’t really do anything new other than reintroduce gamers to the SMACH Z’s specs, which includes a 6-inch screen, an AMD Vega 8 GPU, a Ryzen V1605B SoC, with 2.6 teraflops, 16GB of RAM, 46 watt battery power and up to 256GB of storage. Obviously you won’t be able to play too many AAA games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 or Ghost Recon: Wildlands at the same time due to the limited amount of storage space, but it sure beats the Switch’s paltry storage capacity, eh?

The trailer wasn’t well received by the gaming audience at all.

What’s the issue exactly? A lot of people are calling it “Scam Z”.

So why are they calling it a scam? Well, because it’s been promised for quite some time, but it still doesn’t have a publicly available prototype. It was originally Kickstarted back in 2016, so it’s been two years but still nothing.

The device was originally supposed to launch in April of 2017, but was delayed by a year. The dev team had hands-on prototypes available at this year’s E3, but only showcased it to select media. Daniel Fernandez, CEO at SMACH Team, commented about the prototype, saying…

Well, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to get your hands on the beta version. It won’t be available until GamesCom later this year in August.
