TimeSplitters Rewind je na čekanju zbog problema s CryEngineom i licenciranjem

TimeSplitters was a well received series that was setup to get a forth game. After the announcement of TimeSplitters 4 ceasing development, an indie team started working on a project named Ponovno premotavanje vremena in an attempt to revive the franchise, however, as of this moment, it seems that the fan made project is running into problems with the CryEngine.

TimeSplitters is a series that I would love to see come back and utilize today’s tech. Sadly, if it did come back it would likely fall into the hands of a company like EA, and would probably go down hill trying to hit each and every diversity point, microtransaction scheme, and season pass checkpoint.

Ipak, TimeSplitters 4 or a reboot is not likely to come out anytime soon, and that’s why it’s always good to have ex-devs and fan projects to get a hold of a failed game and do their own thing… or is it?

Hvatanje vjetra iz pcgamesn.com, the publication site details the latest troubles centering around the fan made project known as Ponovno premotavanje vremena. According to the site, the game is currently facing development problems due to the engine that is powering it at the moment, which is better known as CryEngine.

Cinder Interactive Arts posted up on its Facebook stranici, why the team has stopped developing Ponovno premotavanje vremena:

“We have been waiting for a new release from Crytek that changes a lot of the core systems of the engine and includes new documentation. The problem is this engine update was supposed to release over four months ago and the delays continue.”

The team has another build of Ponovno premotavanje vremena as a backup that is fleshed out through Unreal Engine 4, however there’s a catch…

“On the other hand, we have a working build in Unreal Engine 4 that the testers have played on and enjoyed. This version worked at a playable framerate on all hardware we tested (including integrated graphics). The problem comes that if we use this version, we cannot use the TimeSplitters IP and would likely have to re-brand.”

The game has two options from here, either the team has to wait for CryEngine to be updated to its proper build or the team could work on TimeSplitters as a whole new entity due to licensing issues and create a new vision of what TimeSplitters means to them.

In addition to the above, the game is in a pickle at the moment. It’s worth noting that the team wants to invite you to discuss your views on the team’s Discord server at discord.gg in the #rewinddevelopment channel. There’s a poll that will be uploaded at the end of the week letting others know what will go down.

Lastly, would you like to see a new Timesplitters game or do you think that Cinder Interactive Arts will be able to sort out everything regarding TimeSpliters Rewind?
